Siân Turner

I started writing my first novel in 2010, inspired greatly by the life of my mother. When I had a first draft completed (but no idea what to do with it) I joined Shorelink writers, who supported me with continuing my writing journey, and I soon published my first two novels (both historical fiction). After that, when I was ‘on my own’ storywise, I discovered that I enjoyed writing speculative fiction/magical realism (contemporary stories with a paranormal/supernatural element ). My subsequent novels have all been in that genre, and have realistically imperfect female protagonists (although Patches through Time has a joint-protagonist who is male).

Find my books on Amazon here or follow individual links by clicking on the cover images below. I also have a PayHip shop here where you can buy most of my books (in eBook format).

If you would like to know more about me, my books or my blog visit my website: https://sianturnerauthor.wordpress.com/ (I post a blog every couple of weeks, and it’s often about about words/grammar – and sometimes about my latest book/writing news).

SPECULATIVE FICTION NOVELS:

Patches through Time
Casual antique dealer Jake Patch picks up a unique object – a time travel device – and hatches a bold plan to acquire objects from the past and sell them at modern day prices. But when the mysterious Infinity Glass leaves Patch stranded in a dangerous past, it falls to his teen daughter Cass to save him.
With hints of The Time Traveller’s Wife and Back to the Future and a smattering of Lovejoy, Patches through Time will send you spinning headlong into the past, then spit you back into the twenty-first century.

Sweet Erin
Have you ever trodden on a snail and watched it lie there on the pavement, its shell all cracked to pieces and its body oozing and unmoving, waiting to die? Well, I’m that snail. I mean, I’m not actually a snail, I’m a girl, and I’m not literally dying, although that’s what it feels like, you know, on the inside.
Erin is struggling at school, and at home her work-obsessed parents rarely seem to notice her at all. Then an extraordinary app introduces her to a girl named Carys and the pair begin an impossible friendship. While both of them try to face their own demons, Carys makes an astonishing announcement. Will Carys help Erin find the fresh start she desperately needs, and can Erin help Carys restore her crumbling relationship with her father?

Finding the Falling Man
Faye Dawson’s adventure-seeking twin brother Drew is literally a man with a vision.
When he tells his level-headed sister a stranger is going to die because of him, Faye decides to turn amateur sleuth. Her aim: to save the day for both Drew’s conscience and the man they come to call ‘The Falling Man’.
How can they hope to find a specific stranger in densely-populated London and convince him his life is in danger? With the aid of pizza, the Internet and a fictional hamster, of course.
But what if the falling man isn’t the only one in peril?

A Shadow’s Voice
Twenty-three-year-old Jessica Porter has always relied on her gran to help her through hard times. When the old lady dies suddenly, Jessica must find a way to deal with her grief – and an unforeseen bequest.
Seventh is a shadow-like entity who silently helps troubled humans through challenging times in their lives. After transferring to new host Jessica, Seventh is forced to take an unprecedented course of action with extreme consequences. With Jessica’s self-confidence at an all-time low, a chance meeting in the park makes Seventh fear for her safety.
Will Seventh steer Jessica successfully through her time of need, or will Jessica decide to follow a more dangerous path?

Vibes
Emma Logan was born different: she has a secret ability that she calls ‘vibes’, which means she can physically feel other people’s emotions. Her life is a bewildering – and sometimes overwhelming – mess of other people’s emotions. She struggles through childhood treated like a shadow by almost everyone except for her popular best friend, Letty.
When Letty leaves for university, Emma remains at home. Her frustrated dad talks her into applying for a voluntary job at a local primary school, where Emma is delighted to discover that her gift has some advantages… After moving to a job in a secondary school, Emma comes across Jenna, a student in trouble. But can Emma help Jenna without revealing her ‘gift’ and losing the anonymity she’s tried so desperately to retain?

Splitting Infinities
Dawn Foster lost her 18-year-old son, Ben following a tragic accident and a few months afterwards her husband Gary left her. Then, quite by chance, Dawn discovers her son’s ‘lucky stone’ concealed in the pocket of his favourite jacket. The day after the discovery, Dawn’s life begins to take a series of inexplicable turns that leave her suspecting she has stress-induced amnesia. But soon she must face an even more frightening explanation that leaves her doubting more than just her memory. With her son dead, her husband gone and life quite literally out of control, how will Dawn ever be happy again?
