Twelve chairs, all occupied. A mysterious, dimly lit, room. A large, red leather chair in a dark corner. Unoccupied. Why is the 13th chair never used? What will happen if you sit in it? Twenty people got their heads down and came up with twenty different tales. For an extra twist we had to draw lots to decide whether we were to write in the first, second or third person.
The stories that emerged were devilish, ghostly, carnal and suspenseful – and (needless to say!) often very funny. Thanks, Paul, an imaginative and challenging workshop.
Reading week next week – optional theme The Seven Deadly Sins.
See you there.
